As we mentioned in our Lowdown section on the Support page, the more listener hours (TLH) we have in the U.S., U.K. or Canada, the higher the licensing fees we are required to pay. (Yes, it's ridiculous!) We want to keep all our awesome listeners and continue sending out great musical vibes, so we're offering this suggestion as a way for listeners to help MCR stay alive, while also keeping their online presence secure.
Many broadcasters have started to keep their TLH to a minimum by encouraging their faithful listeners to use a Virtual Private Network (VPN), which helps reduce fees by placing listener locations in a country where the TLH is not calculated into the total. If you're in the U.S., U.K. or Canada, you can help us reduce those listener hours by "visiting" any other country when listening to MCR.
